Thyroid hormone

The Thyroid hormones are produced in the thyroid gland in the neck. There are two
major thyroid hormones: T4 or thyroxine and T3 or triiodothyronine (active form). T4
is more abundant in the blood and is converted to T3 in the target tissues where the
latter is predominant. Thyroid hormones are essential to metabolism, heart function,
intestinal motility, immune activity and several other functions.

Deficiency of thyroid hormones (hypothyroidism) result in increased weight, acne,
slow thought process, brittle nails, chronic fatigue, slowness, swollen eyelids, cold
hands and other sign and symptoms. There is a documented decline of thyroid
hormone production with age.
Armour Thyroid and other natural forms are the
recommended for thyroid hormone replacement. Unfortunately the FDA is making it
difficult to manufacture natural thyroid substitute. You can visit
Save Natural Thyroid
to help support more natural forms of thyroid.

L-Tyrosine is a nutritional supplement that help increase the production of thyroid
hormones.  The amount of iodine and iron in the diet must also be sufficient. Thyroid
hormone replacement (particularly with Armour thyroid) must be considered when the
signs or symptoms of hypothyroidism are present, even before the laboratory results
are abnormal.
